Hocus Pocus At The Crystal Mosque.

By Syed Akbar Ali

From The Star :

‘Floating mat’ a sign to people

"KUALA TERENGGANU: The Terengganu chief imam has attributed the unusual occurrences at the Crystal Mosque here as a sign of the people distancing themselves from the religion.

Ustaz Azizi Saidi Abdul Aziz described claims that a visitor had seen and photographed prayer mats floating in the mosque as “hardly phenomenal” and people should stop thinking that it was due to genies or ghosts.

A woman from Negri Sembilan who visited the mosque had photographed the phenomenon with a mobile phone camera early this month, triggering fear among locals."

Here is a picture of the flying rug in the papers today.

I wonder if people started to climb aboard these flying rugs, will it put Air Asia out of business? Can we get really cheap flights to say Australia or Sipadan.

This is a foolish and childish thing to say or to believe in. I am quite surprised that the Chief Imam of Terengganu would even entertain such superstitions and idle talk.

It just goes to show the level of thinking or the thinking that is far from level, which can be exhibited even by someone as grandiose as a Chief Imam.

What next? Flying horses? Hi Yo Silver ! And away we go.

after 50 years of independence, our mind is still in the 'zaman kesultanan melayu melaka' beliefs. and yet some malay people have 'star trek' beliefs like 'why swear with quran, no relevance!'.

wow, same country, totally different beliefs. what's next, eh?

That rug doesnt look like its flying any more than my cat can talk! How in the world does that count as flying????

If really flying, the mat should be seen as floating in mid air. Not on the floor.

Maybe a Mongolian ghost?

S and all,

If Nik Aziz and Haron Din can sell air jampi that can cure all in thousands of bottles, this flying sejadah thing is nothing in comparison.

Truly, stupidity breeds stupidity..

It's a sign of the times.

This is one of the silliest things to believe, but the rural folks will swear it is true.

So, let it be.

By the way, there seems to be a lucky 4 digit number on the mat, if one concentrates on the picture.

But will it be the first prize tomorrow?

A GOOD MAN DOES NOTHING.

Someone put a stick underneath the mat hee hee hee !!!

to tok pendita

Yang bodoh rasanya encik pendita lah bukan Imam masjid tu.. kenapa, kerana artikel menyebut imam berkata "hardly phenomenal" (jarang berlaku)and People should stop thinking that it was due to genies or ghost..maksudnya orang ramai janganlah percaya benda karut marut... so sapa yang bodoh???

Amat menakjubkan! Namun yg paling menakjubkan ialah org yg tengah sembahyang tu tak guna sejadah pun...

Mungkin sejadah tu 'terbang' sambil berkata, "please use me, apa guna aku ada kalau tak nak pakai...".

I think I see a fishing nylon attached to the mat. But I could be wrong. My eye sight is not that good

Is that really inside the crystal mosque? Looks like somebody's house.

Strange and en-explained occurances by human understanding or standards happen all the times. For muslims they are commonly understood. Angels, Jins, Iblis and other makhluks that Allah created are not easily visible or understood by human. But they definitely exist.

Some of these creations are believers and they worship the same God that man worship and obey. There is nothing strange about the Allah's invisible creatures praying.

BUT they are sure scare the living wit out of us. But for the strong believers, these phenomenan will make them stronger in faith. Check/Read hadith about Abu Hurairah, Shaitan and Ayatul Kursi.
