Getting Their Butts Kicked Again

By Syed Akbar Ali

It has been eight years since the Jew-knighted States illegally and immorally invaded Afghanistan. They are now losing the war there.

The Russians occupied Afghanistan for about nine years before they got their butts kicked out too. The Americans occupied Vietnam for about 10 years (1965 - 1975) before they got kicked out of the country by pajama clad Vietcong.

A decade is about the maximum time the world powers seem to be able to hold on to any Asian country which they invade militarily.

Some wise US general once said that the United States could never win a land war on the Asian mainland. Eventually they would lose. Unfortunately no one listened to him - to the extent that folks cant even recall him as the person who said it (I think it was General Douglas Macarthur).

But I think the General missed another point. No one can win and hold territory in any country without just cause. When you are an invader and murderer who enjoys shedding human blood, sooner or later you will be kicked out. Or when your welcome has run out - you should leave. Even if you saved a damsel in distress, it does not give you the right to start calling upon her as you wish. What more then to go and squat in her house?

Anyway here is a news item:

KABUL (Reuters) – Insurgents stormed remote outposts in eastern Afghanistan killing eight Americans in the deadliest battle in more than a year near the border with Pakistan, the U.S. military said Sunday. . .

The NATO statement said "coalition forces' previously announced plans to depart the area as part of a broader realignment to protect larger populations remains unchanged."
. . .

Under McChrystal's new counter-insurgency strategy they are supposed to move into more heavily populated areas to protect the population and reduce the influence of insurgents, while abandoning efforts to defend remote locations.

In short the US is chickening out. They have to withdraw from the Afghan country side because it is getting too dangerous. Quite soon they will withdraw to the aircraft carriers in the Indian Ocean. Then they will sail home.

Moral of the story : Yankee Go Home.

Here are some pictures from Afghanistan.
There is a postscript too.

The Taliban now control the country side. Here they have attacked a petrol tanker on a small road. This will increase.

Some of the 'killer' terrain in Afghanistan. The Hindu Kush Mountains in winter. If you want to play here, you really must be from here. Otherwise you will tumble down.

A little closer view of the terrain.

Grunts walking the grounds in the daytime. At nite they stay indoors.

This is becoming a regular scene in Afghanistan.

Among the "bare necessities" for a US Marine's survival in Afghanistan - an air conditioned gym

This is the opposition. No airconditioning needed. They wear pajamas too. Never mess with folks who wear pajamas to work. Dont they ever learn.

The huge tyre has been blown off an American military truck by an IED (Improvised Explosive Device). Ablution and prayer after blowing up the Infidels.

Postscript:

After the Russians were kicked out of Afghanistan in 1989, the mujahideen warriors rightfully declared victory over the satanic superpower. It was a huge ego boost for the religious warriors, perhaps not seen or felt since the Prophet's inheritors vanquished the Persians.

Mujahideen volunteers from all over the world (including JI, Osama, Hizbut Tahreer) who fought in Afghanistan went home with few other skills except blowing things up, shooting people and fighting an incessant jihad against the evil West. Not knowing what else to do (Jobstreet.com was not available) they continued the jihad - in their own countries. Kuta Beach, the London bombings, the Bombay attack are part and parcel of the same.

The same thing is happening again. This time it is the Great Satan who is getting kicked out of Afghanistan and shortly from Iraq too. Again it is the mujahideen fi Afghanistan wal Iraq who will once again declare victory. There are many Arabs among them this time too - including Saudis fighting in Iraq. Also Pakistanis fighting in Afghanistan. Another jihad infused adrenalin rush.

Will there be a demobilisation for them? Or will there be a constant mobilisation for jihad ? There is still no Jobstreet.com awaiting them with 'positions available' in their countries.

Our country is now geared to an arms economy bred in an artificially induced psychosis of war hysteria and an incessant propaganda of fear - Douglas Macarthur

Our government has kept us in a perpetual state of fear - kept us in a continuous stampede of patriotic fervor - with the cry of grave national emergency - Douglas Macarthur

You are right the Yanks are withdrawing from the land war and moving to their aircraft carriers. However, they have found a highly cost effective way in terms of resources and personnel to continue fighting the war. The answer lies in the drones which knows no fear or fatigue in hunting down the Taliban. While the US may not be able to control the land fully from the air they can sure turn Afghanistan into hell on earth for the Taliban. Yes, the Yanks have successfully deployed the drones from their aircraft carriers. Welcome to Terminators hunting Talibans.

One question though, if you UMNO clowns are so concerned about the Afghans why do you people still allow companies which make the electronics and the engine parts for the drones to operate in Malaysia. Typical UMNO hypocrites. Cakap Tak Serupa Bikin. Just to prove I am not lying go Google 'Honeywell'

Bro,

The Viets just repeated what the Afghans did to the Brits during their forays into their territory in the Great Game played out in the Hindu Kush. The main motivation of Tony Bliar for joining the Coalition of The Coerced headed by the criminal Bush was out of a sense of revenge for his ancestors’ defeat at the hands of the Afghans those many years ago. Bringing democracy or liberating the poor Afghan folks from the Talibs was the last thing on his mind.

The sad thing is while the Americans and Russians were getting their butts kicked by the lowly peasants in Afghanistan Vietnam, and in Iraq, other Third world governments abetted the great satans by providing indirect support and inputs in the vast chain of the war machinery. As mentioned by vinnan above governments like our BN types are complicit.

During the Vietnam War, the precursor to the BN provided a safe haven for US R&R troops to let go steam in places like Penang. The streets of the town were flush with greenbacks and local prostitutes and VD. Good for our tourism industry no doubt, as the Yen Yens and Azalinas would have crowed had they been around then, but pity our brother Vietnamese who had had to face the rejuvenated GI’s.

So let’s not gloat in the victories of the mujahidin and Vietnamese as they kicked Western butts, as though we too are victors by association. We were in fact their enemies. They did it themselves, based on their resourcefulness, faith, and a higher calling. We just stood and watched the fun, and now conveniently cheer as they taught their adversaries a lesson. Conveniently forgetting our role in contributing to their misery and pain.

If only nations could stand up to aggressors, say they won’t play their game, and not succumb to arm twisting. If only leaders do not abandon all moral scruples for a photo-op with the likes of Blair, and Bush in the Rose Garden. Then there may be some hope for the world. But that would require governments and leaders that are honest, uncontaminated, and uncorrupt. And that is another story.

Sounds like you can't wait for the US to leave so that the talibans can get back to ruling Afghanistan again.

No more schooling for girls, executions in soccer stadiums, and reinstatement in the club of doom etc.

One of the facts that seems to be missing in your post is that Afghanistan is the world's largest producer of poppy, a plant that seems to have become very popular in the 60s onwards.

Does that have any strategic significance to the reasons why the Russians and now the Americans and maybe later the turban heads, want to be in control of what seems to be a very harsh environment that no one in his/her right mind will want to live in ?

Vinnan, a drone can never hold ground. A nuclear bomb can. As for Honeywell, you may also ask why we drink Coke? Same logic bro.

Tiko, Tom Hanks played Charlie Wilson in the movie. The US supplied Stingers to the Afghans fighting the Russians in the late 80s. The Taliban were not around yet. Dont forget the US delayed supplying the Stingers for over six years to let the Russians kick the butts of some anti-US folks in Afghanistan and also to let the Russians suffer a bit longer.

Bo, anytime a downtrodden people kick out any aggressor, it is a cause for celebration. Anytime. Jus that in Afghanistan the Taliban are equal or worse satans than the US. The Vietcong have done good.

TL : read my comment about the Taliban. But the truth is even with the US presence in Afghanistan, they have closed an eye to some parts of Afghanistan which have indeed banned girls from schools.

Purple Haze : spot on.

i really liked the postscript. I would recommend that people try to look up Chris Hedges and his book "War is a Force that gives us Meaning" (for those who are not familiar with it already). It turns out, war can be addictive, especially those who don't feel like they have any function in a normal society. I think that it really ties well to what you're saying about how those "jihadis" have little skill in the marketplace.
