Ulama Terompah?

By Syed Akbar Ali

I first saw this picture about 10 years ago. It has never been disputed. There is nothing to dispute.

There is a moral to this picture though. It has to do with this joke:

"As a woman was getting off a bus, she asked the driver directions to walk to someplace nearby. As she spoke to the bus driver she kept shaking her wrist in front of his face. The driver soon noticed that she was trying to show off a new watch. The driver then picked up his left leg and started to point his foot at the direction she should walk "you get off here, walk straight down there and then turn left at that corner.."

The driver was showing off his new leather shoes.

The moral of the story : every man likes a pair of fancy shiny shoes.

Well yesterday Datuk Seri Zahrain Mohamed Hashim the MP for Bayan Baru who has most recently dumped the PKR caused a major hoohaa in Parliament when he started revealing some really embarrasing 'inside information' about what really goes on in the PKR. Zahrain will likely continue his 'pecah tembelang' today.

For those of you who do the lingo, you can read his expose at Utusan Malaysia here.

But in summary Zahrain said the following in Parliament:

i. Anwar Ibrahim called Nik Aziz an 'ulama terompah' - a 'bathroom slippers' ulama. I am being kind. Terompah actually means wooden clogs that were used to go to the old 'outhouse' type toilets.

ii. During the famous 9-16 caper, where Anwar promised that 31 BN MPs would jump ship, Zahrain says that Anwar claimed the Yang Di Pertuan Agong too was waiting for the big jump to take place "kononnya Seri Paduka pada satu ketika pernah menunggu di istana untuk mengesahkan jumlah ahli Parlimen BN yang melompat parti"

And that Military chiefs as well as one Deputy Speaker of the Parliament were all also waiting.

And what did Anwar do when Zahrain was letting go of these explosives? Elvis left the building in a great hurry. As the stomach churns. Here be the picture of Anwar leaving the Dewan in a hurry :

Tuan Syed I notice The Star does not carry this news. The Chinese papers also are playing down this issue. As usual the Chinese, including the MCA & Gerakan, are secretly supporting the Pakatan. Anwar cannot sue Zahrain. I hope Zul Nordin and other ex PKR MPs will back up Zahrain.

It a shame really. It represents the quality and character of MPs that Malaysian people elected to Parliament.

Elected MPs who are more interested to discuss politics and mud slinging against each other in Parliament instead of working in formulating good policy for the rakyat should be shown the exit and should not to be elected next time. They have only shown their true and only capability i.e. politic.

Leave everyone with this quote to ponder:

Politics' is made up of two words, 'poli,' which is Greek for 'many,' and 'tics,' which are blood-sucking insects.- Gore Vidal

Bleacher,

I hope you're referring BABI, DAPigs dan hamPAS leaders, right. Since the PRU12, these so-called pemimpin rakyat are killing the rakyat with their all actics. They wouldn't let off the government of the day, which is a legitimate kerajaan rakyat, to do their job, focusing on economic problems, environmental issues, and many other problems which will in the end will stifle the rakyat, so that they can easily claim, the BN does know how to rule. Let's tell BABI to just focus on his personal LIWAT case, leave the country to other more capable leaders. Like what Karpal said "semua masalah ini (referring to PR lost of Perak govt) was due to Anwar. Anwar bertaubatlah"
