Underworld In Penang

First here is a news report from The Star

Man shot dead in Penang  :  GEORGE TOWN: A 29-year-old man was shot dead at close range by a gunman at Jalan Permai, Taman Brown here.  The man was pronounced dead at a private hospital during the 10.50pm incident Saturday.  He was chatting outside a friend's house before the gunman with his accomplices in two cars came and fired a shot at him. Police have since come out with a photofit of the suspect based on the friends description.

This is happening frequently in Penang especially on the island. Talk is that the underground societies have penetrated the island's booming construction industry.  Labour supply and 'protection' for construction sites are under the influence of the underworld.

Plus the underworld is also active in their traditional businesses - prostitution, entertainment centres, drugs and money lending.   And there is a money route.

Developers pay contractors. Contractors have to pay the underworld.   Entertainment centre operators need licenses.

When there are gangs and money involved, there will certainly be turf wars and that is why we read about stories like this - where a 29 year old man gets shot and killed. There will be more such occurences.

Tuan Syed,
A bit of a dig at Pakatan Rakyat/DAP is it? You just need to come to JB and to realise whats been reported is altogether different.

Indonesian immigrants slipping in an out and some arriving on the 7am ferry and returning with stolen loot by the 7pm ferry. 40 illegal entry points. City endemic with snatch thieves. Murder, kidnapping, drugs, and gangland territorial mayhem. Any wonder JB is also known by the moniker "Jenayah Banyak". And this is a Barisan Nasional state.

A woman was kidnapped and ransomed for 3 million. Where, in the peaceful town of Taiping.
What can the common man do if police in the highest office and politicians are in cahoots with the criminals.
One has to read the Ex IGP spat with his other officers each accusing the other of being in cahoots with the underworld.
Wait a minute isn't the police under the yoke of BN??

Norman ...we are not denying that crime is quite rampant in KL. But your beloved Lim Guan Eng is very fond of saying how safe Penang is and often compares it with your state, Johor. Are you agreeing with him?

Its been for quite sometime, where some people, especially the slanty eyed chinks and DAP's people described Johor Bahru as Crime Infested city.

I wonder why? I have been living in JB for the last 5 years and I never experienced such things, nor does my neighbors, families and friends.

I realized that DAP's people and its supporters especially the Chingkies always try to paint JB in such a bad way. They even concurred dictator view across "Tambak Johor"..

What does Apeks living in Penang knows about JB?

This begged the question. Why they keep on doing this?

Bukit Mertajam is the drug capital of Penang or possibly Northern Region.

Gang killings and and construction inspired boom in Penang? The Penang gangsters need to learn from Johoreans the real meaning of Gangland killings. Look at the newly-minted UMNO Bandar DiRaja lah. This month alone two kidnapping cases. During the second half of the year two major drug bust. Gang killings in the town of annual floods further north. A few years ago the JB Tmbalan Ketua Polis was hacked to death by Indons when he cracked down on the illegal activities of the Indon construction workers.

The last time police officers were targets of assassinations was during the Communist emergency. Syed Penang criminals are nothing compared to those in Johor.
