Its Over - 800 Ribu, 500 Ribu, 50 Ribu, 40 Ribu, 30 Ribu

Ok its over. Here are some pictures.  Malaysiakini bullshit said 100,000 had gathered. Here are their headlines. 

100 ribu banjiri stadium?  Here is a view of Stadium Merdeka taken during the Himpunan. You can see the stadium was still half empty. Remember this is a 30,000 capacity stadium (sitting capacity).

Here is another picture of Stadium Merdeka later in the day.  I think this was taken at maximum crowd.  The seats are pretty filled up - ok 30,000 capacity. There are people on the football pitch as well say 3000 - 5000 max. 

Our boys said 40,000 were present.  I doubt it.  Max maybe 35,000 people.  

Dont forget this is rent a crowd. Dapat free T shirt '112', free headband, free makan and air botol (for the tear gas). Siapa bayar?  And they still cant get even 50,000 people? Forget about 100,000. And one million? Thats just a cool number ok? 

Now here is a mystery. The Gomen offered the Himpunan folks the use of the Bukit Jalil Stadium which has a 100,000 seat capacity. They turned down the offer. Instead they accepted the Stadium Merdeka with a smaller 30,000 seat capacity.  

On hindsight this was a major face saving device.  Imagine putting 35,000 people in a 100,000 capacity stadium. It will look only 1/3 full.  At least the smaller Stadium Merdeka looked full with less than 40,000 people.  They avoided "ditimpa kemaluan besar".  

If you want to see a 100,000 man crowd at the Stadium Bukit Jalil here it is. This is a mega crowd - rented or not rented. This is a lot of people.

Here is some analysis. Folks say Anwar Ibrahim made a lacklustre speech. He is probably preoccupied with the court case next week where Shamsidar Taharin will likely have to appear as a witness and suffer cross examination.  Aiyyo. Ini semua itu Nallakaruppan punya pasai.

He is also not satisfied with today's gathering because it was too quiet. No attacking the Police, no overturning Police cars, no breaking windows or taunting the FRU. Too boring. This is just not his style. 

Ever since the fake Baling riots of 1974 (where it is still a mystery what was the name of anyone who died of starvation there) the brader's signature has been rioting and running wild in the streets.  

Walking quietly, sitting quietly inside a stadium is just not his style. Dia lebih suka gangnam style rioting. It is also likely that if they organise another peaceful himpunan inside a stadium like this, no one will come. These folks are not used to gathering peacefully. 

N'theless it was an achievement by the Himpunan folks and we salute their peaceful gathering. They can gather peacefully.  It is not impossible. I hope this will set the standard for the Pakatan folks for the future. There is no need to run riot in the streets.

The Chinese were ABSENT in large numbers today. They even got the Malays to carry the DAP banners and T shirts. Here are two pictures courtesy of The Unspinners :

Apo nak di kato? Rela jadi lembu lagi.

There was a smattering of Indians. The boys smsed that the lembus were PAS. They provided the manpower, the numbers and the organisation. The only benefit to them was that most of the flags were PAS flags. There were very few PKR flags being waved and I did not see one DAP flag in town. (Inside the stadium saya tak tahu lah). 

Did they achieve anything? There is only one way to find out.  Today is Saturday. See if by Monday this event still crosses your mind for any useful reason at all. If it does not, then you know it has not achieved anything.
