So we learn that Anwar Ibrahim - who according to Court testimony is an Indian by DNA, most likely a Tamil - has now been appointed Huguan Siou or Paramount Leader of the Kadazandusun people by some unthinking PKR guys in Sabah - without the permission of the Kadazandusun people. It does not matter to anyone what their racial backgrounds are, or what your racial background is or mine for that matter. I am only trying to make a point here.
But isnt it quite the other way around? Anwar is a 50% Tamil or 75% Tamil yet you dont ask him to declare that he is a Tamil or an Indian. Why? And he refuses to declare it too. And that seems ok with you. Can you explain this?
Dr Mahathir is not a 50% Keralite. His mother was a Malay and his father carries the mamak mix. That makes him about 25% Indian. I think here Dr Mahathir loses out to Anwar.
And Dr Mahathir has never denied his ancestry. Let me ask you a question - how did the world come to know about Dr Mahathir's Kerala ancestry? Were you there at his birth? No. It was Dr Mahathir who told everyone about his ancestry. He has also mentioned it in his writings a few times. And he has mentioned it at no less than the UMNO General Assembly - live telecast on TV to the whole world.
It is not an issue at all. Yet it was the racists who made an issue about Dr Mahathir's ancestry. Now the same racists are keeping quiet about Anwar Ibrahim's Indian ancestry.
Please answer this question honestly. You are a seasoned lawyer in Johor. Have you seen Dr Mahathir's IC or Birth Cert? If you have not, then how do you know what is written on his IC?
By the same token, please check Anwar's BC as well. Some say he is descended from the "botol chetty". I dont know. Maybe you can check this out. It is not a crime if your grandparents were 'botol chetty'. It was a job that required a lot of hard work.
In Penang, Kedah, Perlis and Sri Menanti in Negeri Sembilan there are purer mamaks (Tamils, Malabars, Keralas) They only look like mamak. But they cannot speak a word of their ancestors' language. They only speak Malay. Their DNA may be different but for all intents and purposes they are 100% Malay.
This is because of them being Muslims, growing up with Malays, speaking Malay, sharing the Malay culture and becoming Malay.
But here is the acid test : if the Malays accept these mamaks as Malays then who are you to suggest otherwise?
You have wrongly made an issue that Dr Mahathir has not declared his 25% Kerala ancestry. Now let us see you asking Anwar Ibrahim why he has not declared his 50% or 75% Tamil ancestry?

As for Dr Mahathir admitting his ancestory, for long periods of time he lived in a state of denial despite the fact he was from my suku kaum orang Kerala. Its only late in life he began to make fleeting admission to his asal usul. That's why there is an old joke that it the country had to wait until a Malayalee became the prime minister to transform the Malay. Then when he serah country to a non Malayalee Mr Sleepy Head Badawi, country began spiraling down. To me personally, TDM's race truly doesn't matter, it's what he did to help the majority of the people on this land identified and recognized as "malays" does because i am one of those people. In helping the majority achieve economic strength, he helped the other races too. Maybe not miraculously, but helped the people he did.

Being a Huguan Siou means you have to reside in Sabah permanently, lead the people you ought to lead, speak their language, humble towards the poor village folks, have profound knowledge of their custom, fond of their culture, married to one of them, and most importantly responsible to unite them under one political ideology which is the hardest part of its all.
