Whether you studied science in English or in Bahasa Malaysia in schools, you would know that oil and water don't ordinarily mix. The difference in the molecular structures of oil and water is one of the main reasons why they don't.
It was therefore an apt analogy when Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak Najib likened PAS, DAP and PKR leaders as 'oil and water' that cannot be united to lead the country. The molecular make-up of each of these leaders is so different that they don't possess common traits and pursue less common aims and policies. So, they cant mix, leave alone cooperate with one another. For all intents and purposes PAS is a religionist party; DAP is a secular party; and PKR is undecided.
They have no common stand on any major issue. Or, for that matter, on minor issues either. On the other hand, oil and water can leave unattractive stains. These stains can only be removed by cleaning agents that will wash away the oil and dissolve a political marriage of convenience.
- Ends.
Najib: Opposition leaders like 'water and oil'
| Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has likened PAS, DAP and PKR leaders to "water and oil" that cannot be united to lead the country. |
Najib said the opposition leaders subscribed to different political ideologies, struggles and agendas and it would therefore be difficult for them to cooperate with one another.
"DAP has Karpal Singh, Lim Kit Siang while PAS has Abdul Hadi Awang and Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat. Like water and oil, they are an impossible mixture.
"At the same time, how are they going to fit in Anwar Ibrahim? All of them are very different from all aspects," he said.
Najib, who is also BN chairperson, said unlike the opposition, the BN adopted the concept of power sharing among component parties and held the reins of government since independence.
The prime minister also asked the people of Johor to give a cold shoulder to Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim, who was scheduled to visit Johor today, and not be swayed by his promises.
Khalid is no different from other PKR and opposition leaders who are good at "selling promises" but are not good at honouring them despite presenting them in their party manifesto, he said.
My comments : I want to share something. In 2008 after the BN lost the 2/3 majority and the five States I thought a good Opposition would emerge that would serve as a good check and balance. Even Tun Dr Mahathir said at that time that it is good to have a strong Opposition. In a democracy it is an absolute must.
But the catch phrase is a good Opposition. Folks are you aware that the Opposition is now being led by people who are ex-convicts and jail birds? Some of you think that having been sent to jail is some type of badge of courage. Well you are wrong.
Especially when some of these Opposition leaders were sent to jail not for leading the Independence movement against the British, helping Mahatma Gandhi win Independence for India or even to save the whales. They were sent to jail for corruption. Can you beat that? Corrupt abuse of power. What a joke? And these people are now heading the Opposition?
One other fellow was jailed for publishing and distributing lies. Someone should get that Court judgement against him and republish it again.
Then among them there are people who say that only a Muslim should be the Prime Minister. No where in our Constitution does it say that only a Muslim can be Prime Minister. Dr Mahathir has said it plainly that in our present system any Member of Parliament who can command the majority support of Parliament shall be Prime Minister. And under our system, the YDP Agong is obliged to appoint such a person as Prime Minister.
Now the Opposition guys have said it plainly that only a Muslim shall be Prime Minister. There is a reason for them to say this. According to their belief system, Muslims should NOT accept non-Muslims as their leaders. In their Sharia state or negara Islam the non-Muslims must pay a special tax to the Muslims to allow them (the non Muslims) to continue living in the country. This is their belief system.
Now consider this, if they say that only a Muslim shall be Prime Minister, do you think that they will tolerate non-Muslims as Cabinet Ministers at all? Think carefully. This is the Opposition that you have. So be careful what you wish for.
Then the second component of the Opposition consists mostly of UMNO rejects. If you dont like UMNO then bear in mind that the worst people from UMNO - the UMNO Rejects - are now in the Opposition that some of you support. Some of you are terribly confused.
Folks, do you think that if they come into power they are going to become angels and saints? You must be really stupid if you think that. They are rich and wealthy beyond count. You cannot count the amount of money they have. You know and your neighbour's cat knows that when they were in UMNO they were not exactly living in the poor house.
Statutory Declarations have been made saying that some of them had stashed away billions. There is no way to retract a Statutory Declaration. One of the more noticeable statements in that Statutory Declarations is the following :
"I believe that the total funds in these 20 Master Accounts run into more than RM3 billion"
Wow! More than RM3.0 billion. Later some people came out and said that this guy had been forced to make the Statutory Declaration. Ok lets go with that argument for a second. But even if he had been forced, how did he get all these detailed information? He has named names and pointed fingers in his Statutory Declaration. Surely any one of those people can stand up and say that it was not true. As expected one guy denied the Statutory Declaration as a conspiracy against him.
However details like the following cannot be simply conjured up from thin air :
"insisted that APPC should manage Bank Negara Malaysia’s reserves of RM50 billion and the EPF funds in return for the services provided to him by APPC. Alternatively a hefty fee of USD 3 million was to be paid annually to APPC for the cost of running the Centre in Washington. Fortunately this instruction .... for APPC to manage the above funds was never put into effect"
APPC is an American neo-con outfit run by one guy by the name of Douglas H Paal who was also closely associated with the pro-Israel, Jewish lobby groups in the US.
All of you who can think, who read the newspapers and foreign magazines - ponder this - in 2008 almost the entire working and retired population of Iceland lost their "EPF" savings held by their version of the "EPF" because they invested their money on Wall Street, in the US Bond market and also in the highly speculative derivatives market.
And our 'anugerah Setan' wanted to hand over Bank Negara's reserves as well as our EPF money to the same Wall Street investment managers. Before Iceland please recall the collapse of Barings Bank (1995), Long Term Capital Mgmnt or LTCM (1998), AIG (American International Group), the disastrous collapse of Merryl Lynch, the almost collapse of the Bank of America and many other financial disasters worth billions and billions of US Dollars - all because of the greed of the type of con-men who were sleeping with our 'anugerah Setan'.
Imagine if he had handed over our EPF savings to Douglas H Paal? Mampus kita. He wanted to - but lucky for us his instructions were not carried out. Why? Because I believe EPF's and Bank Negara's use of funds are also governed by acts of Parliament. You cannot simply move our EPF money around here and there as you wish - even if you are Finance Minister. Lucky for all of us the idiot did not even know basic procedure.
He certainly would not have understood derivatives, paired trading, caps, collars and swaps on Wall Street. I dont. Even Merryl Lynch did not fully understand the business.
And now this is the same fellow who has been elected by some of YOU as the ketua crap. Either you are just plain stupid or you are totally stupid. You are the people who dont read anything beyond your favorite bullshit Blogs and websites. You cannot think and you possibly do not know a hole in the ground from a hole in your head.
And finally there is no need to talk about the Father and Son party. They serve only one community. They are competing with Kim Jong Il. Kim Il Sung and now Kim Jong Un to establish a family dynasty over the party that they control with an iron fist. And if you say that they are clean - it only means one thing - you are also corrupt. This bullshit about them being clean and angelic is getting further and further from the truth.
There is certainly a need for a good Opposition. We really miss the presence of giants like Tan Sri Dr Tan Chee Khoon. Even Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye. They were/are men of better integrity and commanded the respect of other people who also had integrity.
Unlike them the present crop consists of the cheats, liars, land thieves, the corrupt, homos, adulterers and fools. This is the difference. We just do not have a good Opposition at all. This is the honest truth.
In lieu of not having a viable and good Opposition I propose that we become our own Opposition. I support the BN philosophy. This does not mean that I support all the BN leaders or all the BN policies. I may not support individual members of the BN leadership and certain policies of the BN. In such event we must speak up and say so.
We dont want to change the Government but we want the Government to change and change constantly.
The Opposition is made up of dirty oil and polluted water. They dont mix well at all.

Mr Syed,
If that's the case, I would suggest that DAP rename itself as Christian Democrat Party.

The way i see it pakatan is full of various ideologies and principles that contradict with each other a lot. But what do they care? As long as they can point some cannons at BN it will be alright though their ship is full of nuts and sickos. At one end is the traditional Malay pas fanatics who still largely support Malay supremacy while upholding their brand of Islam while at the other end a bunch of libertards who oppose every status quo of our oriental tradition, no Malay rights, no Islam rights, no nothing. If a father beats his son for being bad and naughty, some people from this bunch will spring to defence of the boy and start spewing bullshit of human rights, child abuse, bla3. Things will be worse if the father is an umno fella people will start lambasting him with everything they can think of. The cyber troopers will start spinning full gear on Facebook twitter etc and the morons (the young Malays usually) will immediately accept the cow dung dished out to them as truth of BN's decadence. Yes it goes that far regardless of how silly it sounds. Bodoh juga org melayu ni, itulah suka sangat melayan Facebook and I'm not being bias to BN, because the Malay dunggus are both in BN and PR. This scenario also applies to the former although it is rampant in the latter.
Nicely said! Bravo!
Tn syed I concur with you 100pc. However as much as I would like to see them falling on their knees by ge13 I think they still stand a huge chance to form a gov. Do you see their supporters these days? Its either they hv grown by number or they really are masters of deception able to create illusion as if they are really massive in number. I see if with sadness that the budak2 muda like yours truly who believe every sheet the pakatan fellas are spewing out of their an us. Pas garners the biggest no of supporters with their Islamic theme and ulama images. I think they will likely win putrajaya and thus the club of doom nears upon us.
Ge13 will b critical because it will make or break those nutjobs in pakatan. Just to share with you, I saw a banner for DAP fundraiser with a slogan, "it's now or never". it confirms the greed and zeal of the dinosaurs who really want to hold power before they hit the bucket. Ge13 is the last shot for the decaying figures like kitsiang, the pas old guards and even the oppo leader himself. By ge14 they all will be older and instead of wiser, I believe they'll be stupiderl. But of course you hv known better. Now for them or never. Lets make sure they nvr do.
in politics, they can do 'marriage of convenience', they will 'sell anything' ,including their souls in order to win.
also,in politics, there no permanent enemy or friendship, it's 'cookie jars' that keep them together,...heeeeeha!!
Your last 2 paras have articulated for me, family members and buddies on how we gonna vote and why. Thanks
Salam Tuan Syed.
You said since there is no GOOD OPPOSITION why not WE become the GOOD OPPOSITION. Tuan Syed, I understood what you meant cause I also think the same. However there is a drawback of becoming a GOOD OPPOSITION of our OWN, no one will listen to you. They'll do anything under their power to not to listen to you; the GOOD OPPOSITION. Take for example the PPSMI. Discussions, round tables were held numerous times, open letters with suggestions to the public via The Star etc had been done many times. But THEY did not take heed.
That's the spirit
Tuan Syed. Well written.
Now something about UMNO.
Many of us are fed up of the same old faces in UMNO. They think they have a freehold in the gomen. Not much change over the years. Just like dap, no room for new faces because oldies like tengku adnan [which negeri is he from and how did he get the 'tengku'?]Isa Samad and Rais Yatim feel they are getting younger. A few more are older than the mountains. How to attract young voters? After PR13 UMNO better do some house cleaning or I will not bother voting in PR14.
Because we have a lousy opposition and knowing the goverment can change is why I will vote BN.
We changed Badaw to Najib,i and need be, I believe we can do it again.
However I don't think we can do it with the Lim family, Anwar family or even PAS.
They will kill dissent and hold on to power till they die.
Can we form a 'wing' under BN that serves as a watchdog to all the component parties within BN?
Fazilis
Don't worry Tuan Syed, BN will win & gradually change for the good of the country & the rakyat.
Politics does breed strange bedfellows.
Afifuddin itu dulu suka cium bontot Anwar Ibrahim. Tak tahu lah kalau Anwar dah cium bontot Afifudin ke belum? Jadi tak hairanlah Afifudin tulis novel pasal pasangan Islam - Kristian berzina dan lepas tu sembahyang utk lepaskan dosa. Sikit macam cerita Si Anu dgn Mrs AA atau Si Anu dgn betina Chinese Doll dlm video tu.
PAS and DAP are like Russians and Germans during WW2.
Keep bickering with each other and this 'Russian' PAS might do the same thing the Russians did back then and join the Allies to stomp the Germans from both sides.
I agree with you 200% Mr Syed!

I totally agree with Anon above. Current Opposition is pathetic. Religious freaks village idiots + power crazy sex maniac + dictators all roll into one. With their bad manners + bad policies, I truly cannot imagine how can they steer MY to be a developed country by 2020.
If they win (God forbids!) the first 3 years they will find faults and blame BN for everything that is wrong. They will also undo projects which they deemed not important (like during Pak Lah's time). They will also bicker among themselves (like now). They will also sue everybody that criticise them..
PM Najib is such a gentleman. His recent Psy stint is a clear evidence. CM LGE pulak like sour grapes and his supporters are equally of bad manners.
Let's vote PR out!
Very nice comment SAA ..
Voids in their heads ,,
Vote PR out!!! MrDn
paksyed,
I agree full-heartedly with your view. The pakatan leaders are a bunch of crooks and psycho people. BN leaders are no angels too, but in general BN is the better choice (and less risks) for us to give the mandate to manage our country.
About the supports amongst young people (especially Malay)...well as I had written before in previous comments, I can say that majority of them are Pakatan lunatics. I can hardly detect BN supporters. This is the truth. Maybe BN supporters are tawaduk and silent type, I don't know. But the trend now are worrying.
The young people (especially Malay) are full of hatred towards BN (especially UMNO). The issues are old unproven-basi ones. Rosmah, Rosmah tak pakai tudung, Cincin Rosmah, Rosmah tido hotel Dubai harga bepuluh ribu satu malam, Corruption (bila tanya, tak dapat point one by one), malaysia not islamic, hudud, kilang arak. All those issues lah.
