Reports by other Malaysian media said former Sabah minister Harris Salleh lamented the violence, saying “it would remain a scar forever” on Malaysia’s diplomatic image before the eyes of the world.
Harris had earlier called for a peaceful resolution of the Sabah stand-off and proposed that Kuala Lumpur settle the claims of the heirs of the ancient sultanate by buying it out.
He proposed that the sum of at least RM200 million be offered to the heirs of the sultanate so they would drop their bid to reclaim Sabah.
Harris Salleh is spewing bullshit again from his mouth. As a former Sabah minister, what effort has he done for the ongoing situation.
If the govt give 200 million to these fellas, then other 'sultans' would want to join in and claim this and that and will the circus stop? Bout time the police or the askar or whatever we have put an end to this baloney.

Malaysian Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein : " I confirm that our security forces have not taken a single shot but were shot at at 10am this morning !" he tweeted at 12.50 P.M. Friday.

Raja Muda Agbimuddin Kiram, the leader of the Pinoy group in Sabah, earlier said Malaysian security forces fired at the Sulu sultan's group early Friday.
A Palace spokesperson said "the situation is a little confusing" at present. "We've been receiving conflicting reports on what is happening in Sabah," Presidential Communications Secretary Ricky Carandang said in an interview with ANC.
The family claimed that there were at least 10 casualties and four injured in the firefight.

That's a stupid idea, if we go for a settlement (RM200 million), then they would have claimed that it's a proof that their claims are legit. And, if they turned down the settlements, that would be a mess.

Pengawal keselamatan negara kita di sana patut buat seperti 25-20tahun lepas.
Masa ayah saya kerja di Sahabat 16, akan ada pengawal pantai (askar hutan, askar) yg berkawal setiap hari. Kalau malam, ternampak bot lalu menghampiri pantai, pengawal akan tembak amaran. kalau melawan, maka mereka akan saling bertembakan sampai lanun mengalah. Masa itu, pengawal kita takde bagi chances kat lanun. mati mereka kerjakan.
Geng2 ini serupa lanun. Sepatutnya tak dilayan.
Dulu, masa tahun 91, ramai org di sahabat hilang semasa di kebun, hutan. Tahu2 dah mati. Even, kawan ayah saya, yg buat business teksi motor hilang beberapa hari. 4 hari kemudian, mayatnya dijumpai di sungai. Disembelih. Suspek, lanun yg baru naik darat!

Masa lepas bunuh, dia lalu tempat pengawal, pengawal bagi amaran, pengawal keselamatan kat situ pun kene tembak...
Kesimpulannya... wahai menteri dalam negeri... bangun la tido... Takkan nak jadi lebih teruk kot?
pd pendapat aku, apabila ada kematian di pihak Malaysia, kita tidak perlu berlembut lagi. kerana kerajaan Malaysia telah memberi terlalu banyak ruang dan peluang untuk lanun penceroboh pulang ke tempat asal dengan aman dan selamat.

Orang kampung yang sama bangsa dan agama seperti di Kg.Memali pun kerajaan tak bagi muka macam penceroboh yang bersenjata di Lahat Datu ni.
