Iran President's Plane Lands In Oman Along With Three More

This morning there was some hoohaa over the appointment of the top cop. Then the hoohaa was dismissed as fake news. A local newspaper had apparently screwed up the guy's bio.

My friend Sam the CEO said there is no point discussing local news anymore. Its full of crap anyway and then Goebbels and gang may come after you for spreading fake news and such. I agree so I will just ignore the local news.

Over in Iran things are happening. Steve Witkoff the American special envoy for the Middle East has been in close contact with the Iranians over the past week. Latest news says Witkoff has spoken directly with Iranian Foreign Minister Aragchi over the phone.

This morning (or yesterday) three Iranian government planes including the Iranian presidential plane (their Air Force 1) landed at Muscat in Oman. Here is a 4 minute video:

So who or what was on those planes? The Iranian president Pezeshkian is an ethnic Turk. There are over 15 million ethnic Turks out of Iran's 100 million population. They live in the south Azerbaijan district (province) of Iran. Across the border from the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Azeris are ethnic Turks who speak a Turkic language. Turkey (or Turkiyeyeye) has eyes on someday incorporating these 15 million Iranian Turks back into Turkiyeyeye. Oh Oh you're in trouble

Will the Americans get involved in bombing Iran? It has already been NINE DAYS since the Israeli strikes began. The third US aircraft carrier task force led by the carrier USS Gerald Ford has sailed into the eastern Mediterranean. The other two carrier groups are in the Indian Ocean close to Iran. The task force includes Ticonderoga class cruisers (really old, from 1970s) but which carry up to 170 anti aircraft missiles with the capability to shoot down ballistic missiles as well. They may assist Israel shoot down ballistic missiles.

The Iranians are believed to have had about 2,000 ballistic missiles in their stockpiles. Half or possibly more have been either fired off or destroyed by the Israeli strikes. They have less than 1,000 ballistic missiles left. Also more than half of the mobile launchers (truck based) for the missiles have also been destroyed. Hence the last two or three days, the Iranians are firing less than 30 ballistic missiles per day.  They have no way of replenishing their missile stocks. If the hostilities continue for a few more days then all their ballistic missiles would have been used up or destroyed. Once that happens it is real game over because Iran has absolutely no other weapons to strike Israel.

The Iranian airforce has been practically destroyed - almost all of it on the ground. Hence news reports indicate that the Iranians are negotiating for peace. Mr Trump has said again that Iran should accept a deal.

But it would seem that the terms of any deal are quite tough. Unconditional surrender is one of them - as has been repeated many times by Donald Trump. Getting rid of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei is likely another condition. Recall my earlier post about Khamenei going off to Russia. Well we dont know what will or will not happen. But most certainly regime change is part of the deal.  Getting rid of their nuclear program and their ballistic missile capability are a given. They have to do it.

I think the sticking points are the arrival of a "caretaker" government - possibly led by that Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi.  There must be no resistance if that is going to happen. Hence that unconditional surrender condition.

But what if they agree to an unconditional surrender and then start shooting at the Crown Prince anyway? Who is going to "enforce" the unconditional surrender?  US boots on the ground? No way.

The Straits of Hormuz are still open. If they wanted to close it, it should have happened by now. But it has not. Oil prices should come down again.

The Israelis were talking about a two week campaign. Or 20 days max. Thats about a week and a half left.

Oh oh so who's in trouble.

FRIDAY NOTES (20/06/2025) FROM THE QURAN - DECLARING THIS HALAL AND DECLARING THAT HARAM

Non-Muslims can read this too. Very short.

My apologies for not writing this Friday Notes From The Quran for sometime. Today the subject is very brief but extremely to the point.

Surah 16:116  And do not speak lies, which your own tongues classify: "This is HALAL (lawful), and this is HARAM (forbidden),"  that you invent lies against Allah. Lo! those who invent a lie against Allah will not succeed.

So do not simply say this is haram or that is halal out of your own desires.

INDONESIA: ANOTHER ARMY WITH A COUNTRY

Growing Rivalry Between Indonesia's Police and Military
Complex ties between Prabowo and Jokowi play out in competing forces
Jun 20, 2025

  • under Jokowi Indon police unprecedented privileges and power
  • numerous high-ranking police officers appointed to key ministries
  • under general Prabowo police influence waning
  • overshadowed by resurgent military
  • Prabowo’s military-rooted leadership
  • struggle for power between police and military elites
  • competition between police and military
  • erupting into violent confrontations
  • between 2014 and 2024, 37 instances of military-police conflict
  • institutional arrogance, culture of superiority, sectoral egotism, festering jealousies
  •  Under Prabowo 12 of 17 ministers, deputy ministers 12 from military
  • only five are former police officers
  • Military Law rushed through Parliament
  • President can assign active-duty military officers to civilian posts
  • “dual function” or Dwifungsi doctrine from Suharto’s authoritarian rule
  • revives military political influence of Suharto
  • Suharto – Prabowo’s former father-in-law – 32 years dictator propped up by military
  • army to recruit 24,000 personnel for “Territorial Development Battalions"
  • tasked with agriculture, plantations, livestock, and health services
  • completely beyond the military’s primary mission of national defense
  • The Jokowi Era: Police Dominant
  • police enjoyed unparalleled influence during Jokowi’s tenure
  • Under Jokowi’ police budget soared from US$2.69b in 2014 to US$7.72b in 2024
  • Jokowi’s favoritism toward police
  • military and police have become instruments of political power
  • they serve the interests of political elites
  • public suffer repression, silencing dissent, criminalization of opposition

My Comments:

Folks does that very last line sound familiar:  public suffer repression, silencing dissent, criminalization of opposition    ?

My view is Indonesia is a solidly Third World country. Not too far from a banana republic. Just listen to the million Indonesians that we have in our country.

One of the defining features of a Third World country is that the fate of an entire country depends almost entirely on the personal character, intellectual capacity, honesty etc of the individual leader. The personal traits of the individual who happens to occupy the no. 1 spot.

Meaning the society as a whole (300 million Indonesians) is of little relevance in advancing and progressing their own future.  Almost everything depends on just one person - the leader. If he is good the country prospers, if he is not good the country goes backwards.

There is little institution building. Freedom of speech is what the "leader" allows in the country. There is little institutionalisation of freedom of speech - through solid constitutional guarantees and just laws. Laws are designed to oppress and repress freedom of speech. This is typical Third World.

Oppression - can be direct police action, use of force by the state.

Repression - other methods, discourage dialogue,  control newspaper licenses, enforce censorship (under various camouflage: religion, culture, race, "harmony").

Compare this with a First World society for example like Italy and Japan which can function even without a prime minister (they used to change their prime ministers so often, like changing their underwear everyday - which is a very, very good thing).

So their institutions (government machinery, Civil Service, judiciary, legal system, the market economy, banking system, education system, health services, police) can basically run the country even without a prime minister. Toyota is still a mega car manufacturer and Italy exports more Lamborghini and Ferrari than ever. Of course molto bella Gorgiosa Meloni (below) is the prime minister of Italy but who knows the name of the Japanese prime minister?

So folks, what type of a country are we living in?

Pie in the sky versus pie in your face versus pies on your table. You choose.

Well the Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has not been seen since last Friday. He has released another video from somewhere - just to assure his loyalists that he is alive. It is also designed to thwart any revolt from within the ranks. The Boss is nowhere to be found but he is still alive might prevent possible pretenders to the throne from making a move. Where exactly he is is anyone's guess. Mr Trump says he knows exactly where Ali Khamenei is and that Khamenei will not be "taken out yet".

The Ayatollahs and Iran are still reeling from this really unbelievable turn of events. Exactly seven days ago the Turbanned Terrors were going about their daily dramas, costume changes and scripted speeches (heavy fiction). Then in a sudden flash the sky started falling (quite literally).

It reminds me of the verses in the Quran:

(105:2) Did He not bring their plan to naught?
(105:3) And He sent against them swarms of birds
(105:4) which smote them with stones of baked clay,
(105:5) and made them like chewed up straw

It took a long time coming but when it happened it was a sudden event.  For which the preparedness was grossly inadequate. That is the point I am making. Grossly inadequate preparedness. What happened to all the bluster of the past 46 years?

So almost certainly they are also not prepared for Stage 2. Stage 2 is the actual regime change. It looks like it will happen and possibly very soon.

The conventional thinking had always been that if the Israelis attacked the nuclear sites it would be a one time event. Possibly a one hour event. Like when the Israelis destroyed Osirak in Iraq in 1981 and Al Kibar in Syria in 2007. They flew in and they flew out - the attacks were over in minutes.

This time they flew in (a week ago) and they are still flying around. They have not left. To be able to keep flying around quite wantonly, flying here there and everywhere, they made extensive and detailed planning with the capacity to not just execute but to stick to their plans exactly.  They even got President Trump to play a part by saying 'the US will not attack Iran'. Which has been a true statement - the US has not attacked Iran. Or still not yet.

They had to completely eradicate (DEAD - Destroy Enemy Air Defenses) the Iranian air defenses. They achieved this within hours.

The Ayatollahs built ballistic missiles most of which they launched from the back of trucks - mobile launchers. The ballistic missiles were stored in hardened underground bunkers - about 40% of which have already been destroyed.  But the Ayatollahs parked the mobile truck launchers outside - which the Israelis have been picking off one by one. Including by their on site sabotage crews using small drones. Without the mobile truck launchers the Ayatollahs cannot fire their ballistic missiles.

No one was expecting a more than one hour attack by the Israelis. So no need to hide the mobile launchers. Oops.

The one state, two state, three state solutions are fully out the window.   The people who collect money for the two state, three state solutions etc can rejoice. They can collect donations for the next hundred years and more. That one woman can settle down permanently in Jordan and make those videos as though she was in Gaza. But what have they solved?

Pie in the sky versus pie in your face versus pies on your table. You choose.

Ali Khamenei Already In Russia?

The city of Teheran is emptying out because millions of Iranians are leaving Teheran for the countryside. This is after they were advised to do so by the Israelis and also by President Donald Trump of the US.

Iranians appeared to flee Tehran on Monday, with videos circulating on social media showing packed highways. The exodus followed an urgent warning issued by President Donald Trump, who wrote on Truth Social on Monday: "Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!"

Rumours are flying that Iranian 'Supreme Leader" Ali Khamenei may already be in Russia. The news is coming from retired Iranian generals and Indian diplomats. Two days ago President Trump cut short his attendance at the G7 Summit in Canada and  returned to Washington. (Video below).

Refuting Macron, president Trump has denied that he left the  G7 Summit because of Iran. Trump left the G7 because the US does not agree with imposing anymore sanctions on Russia. It is most likely that Trump will be dropping the sanctions against Russia. But why did President Trump suddenly move to drop sanctions against Russia?

Do read on.

The US will of course want to play a big role in post-Ayatollah Iran. For obvious reasons:

With about 157 billion barrels of proven crude oil, Iran holds about a quarter (24 percent) of the Middle East's and 12 percent of the world's proven oil reserves. Iran is the ninth largest oil producer globally and the fourth largest within OPEC, producing about 3.3 million barrels of crude oil per day.

Minus sanctions Iran's oil production can go past 4.0 million barrels per day. That is a lot of money. Iran's oil and gas industry is dilapidated. They are using pumps from the time of the Shah, from pre-1979 Revolution. So there are tens of billions of US Dollars of reinvestment needed in the Iranian oil and gas sector. Not to mention that 4.0 million barrels of oil per day or more. So of course The Donald is interested.

Last Saturday 14th June 2025, one day after Israel began striking Iran, President Putin telephoned President Trump. It was very unusual for Putin to call Trump. What makes it more unusual was when Mr Putin said he called Trump (urgently) to wish him Happy Birthday.  How nice of him.

The real reason behind the almost hour long phone call was Iran and of course Ukraine.

  • Saturday 14 June 2025.
  • Trump and Putin agree Iran-Israel conflict 'should end' in hour-long phone call
  • US president says Russian leader "called this morning to very nicely wish me a Happy Birthday" and to discuss tensions in the Middle East.
  • US President Donald Trump has revealed details of a one-hour phone call with his Russian counterpart, in which they agreed the conflict between Israel and Iran should end.
  • Posting on his Truth Social platform, Mr Trump added that he told Vladimir Putin that "his war [in Ukraine] should also end".

Most important point to keep in mind :
Putin called Trump.

I believe Putin and Trump have 'Made a Deal'.

"The Art of the Deal" By Vladimir Putin

Putin provides an escape route for Ayatollah Khamenei to Moscow. Hence those rumours. With the Ayatollah gone and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards crippled the US and Israel will have an easier job of reorganising Iran post the Ayatollahs. So Trump gets Iran on a silver platter - thanks to Israel and Putin as well.

Putin has read the tea leaves and can see that the Ayatollahs days in Iran are numbered anyway. Plus Ali Khamenei is old and sick - he will probably be meeting his 72 goats soon. So why not get some benefit out of an already dying horse?

Provide asylum' to Ali Khamenei in Moscow and make it look like giving Iran to Trump on a silver platter.

Trump gets Iran, the Israelis sleep easier at night plus the Israelis will get a shopping cart full of goodies from the US, the Saudis, from Iran, from the UK, from the EU, from everywhere.

What does Putin get? Plenty. Trump agrees to drop all sanctions against Russia (which will break up NATO and the European Union). When the single largest and most important member of NATO (the USA) decides to make peace with the single largest enemy of NATO (Russia) then the rest of NATO and the European Union can go and jump in the lake. Macron will likely get another tight slap from his wife.

Putin gets to decide the fate of Ukraine. Fully invade Ukraine. Break up Ukraine and give parts to Poland and Rumania (with American help). Get endless security guarantees from the US, Poland over Ukraine. Get to keep Odessa too.  Plus much much more.

Iran becomes a 100 million strong democracy. (A few ayatollahs may get hung from the lampposts before that happens). Iran will become a secular democracy with a modern electoral system. The Iranian people will likely enter an age of super prosperity and friendly co-existence with the whole world.

The Ayatollahs? The Ayatollahs get sold down the river. Because they are so damned unbelievably stupid. I have never seen a dumber set of people than men wearing beards and skirts. What a combo.

Here is a brief video by Rumanian YouTuber Sebastian Sas on Donald Trump and the G7 Summit.

AL JAZEERA RERUNS HILARIOUS NEWS

Well it is hilarious because it happened to the 'enemy'. An Iranian propaganda program was being broadcast on their TV when a bomb strike suddenly hit the TV station. The bomb was not powerful enough to bring down the TV station because the TV broadcast was uninterrupted. But the propaganda woman had to make a hasty exit.

VLADIMIR PUTIN OFFERS ASYLUM TO AYATOLLAH ALI KHAMENEI

It is being reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps of Iran or IRGC have disappeared. The regular Iranian Army has also disappeared. They are nowhere to be seen in Iran.

It will be a matter of days before someone starts to get organised inside Iran. Then a new group will emerge to displace the Ayatollahs.

Who will they be? A lot of attention has been focussed on the Crown Prince Shah Reza. Maryam Rajavi is also another favourite.

The transition has to be carefully managed. After so much effort to win the game you cannot drop the Cup during the prize giving ceremony.

IRAN COLLAPSING ALREADY

Ok the mystery of how the Israelis are refueling their jets across 4,000 km (two way) flying distance to Iran and back is becoming clearer.

The IAF currently reportedly has 8 Boeing 707 tankers. These tankers can each refuel about 10 F-15/16 aircraft per mission, and each tanker can likely generate about 2.5 long-range refueling missions per day.

That works out to about 200 warplanes - which is exactly the number of Israeli jets which took part in the first wave of attacks on Friday 13th June '25. It is most likely that all their eight Boeing 707 tankers are flying round the clock.

Since then the Israelis have also cleared a secure flight path all the way from Israel to Iran and back - with no air defenses to overcome along this path. This allows their F15E Strike Eagles to fly at high altitudes (no need to worry about radar detection) which also burns less fuel. Plus they carry extra 'drop tanks' - temporary fuel tanks which can be discarded once empty. That is how they are covering that long distance to Iran and back.

But here is some news that the USAF is moving 30 of their aerial tankers (Boeing 707 or KC135)  on a flight path headed east across the Atlantic Ocean late Sunday.

US Air Force in unprecedented mass deployment of aerial tankers across Atlantic
30 KC-135 and KC-46 tankers moved east late hours of Sunday
required to refuel aircraft such as Israeli jets hitting Iran

OSTB:  The KC135 (Boeing 707) of the USAF will likely have the same nozzles as the Israeli Air Force tankers and can therefore refuel IAF jets as well. But 30 aerial tankers sounds too many.

Unless the US Air Force is also preparing for action. And of course heavy bombers like the B52 and the B2 Stealth bomber (now warming up their engines on Diego Garcia) drink much more fuel than F15s and F16s.

If you are interested here is a quite detailed video report about the damage that has been inflicted upon Iran until today. That news about Bandar Abbas - the Iranian Navy Base in the Persian Gulf is very interesting.  As you are reading this, that base possibly does not exist anymore.

Donald Trump Wants Putin To Mediate Iran-Israel Ceasefire. Macron Says No.

    • Trump sees peace between Iran and Israel soon, eyes Putin role
    • WASHINGTON, June 15 (Reuters) -
    • conflict between Israel  Iran escalating
    • Trump expressed optimism Sunday peace would come soon
    • cited possibility Vladimir Putin could help
    • Trump said there were many unspecified meetings about issue
    • he was open to Putin, serving as a mediator.

Then over in child-abuse land Macron says he does not agree for Putin to mediate.

    • Macron rejects Trump's idea for Putin to mediate Israel-Iran crisis
    • Macron said Russia lacked credibility to mediate between Israel and Iran
    • Macron said he rejected such an idea.
    • "I do not believe that Russiacan be a mediator" Macron said

    My Comments:

A mediator is a person who can be trusted by all sides to a conflict. Mr Putin has good relations with the Ayatollahs  and Russia has a very long and little known military relationship with Israel until today over Syria - their air forces share FOF codes 'Friend or Foe' recognition. So that both the Israeli and Russian Air Forces do not shoot each other over Syria (unlike Turkey which 'accidentally' shot down a Russian jet over Syria).

Also it is best to ask Israel and Iran first if they mind Russia as a mediator. Until then it is best for Macron to find a mediator between him and his abusive wife.

However mediation may not work because for the Israelis this is a specific combat operation with specific objectives - to cripple the Ayatollahs nuclear program and to take out their ballistic missiles capabilities (manufacturing, storage, launch sites). They appear to have a time frame (15 days?) in which they hope to achieve their mission objectives. This is a military operation. It is not a political issue or a tussle over territory.

For the Ayatollahs they absolutely have no military objective at all why they got involved in this conflict. An apartment building has been destroyed by one Iranian ballistic missile but that will not drive the Jews into the sea. Because the balance of their 99 ballistic missiles were blown out of the sky (or fell in Jordan).

It is most likely that by the time any mediation can begin this conflict will be over.

This offer of mediation can actually prolong the conflict. The Israelis have established complete air dominance over Iran. Now with 'peace negotiations' the Israelis can keep flying some of their warplanes over Teheran to embarass the Ayatollahs into an 'agreement'.  Also if Mr Putin becomes a mediator then Russia cannot replenish Iran with the Russian weapons which have been destroyed. (So dont you think the Israelis are behind this 'lets bring Putin as mediator' offer?)

    TEHRAN, Iran

    • Iran said Sunday ready to halt attacks on Israel
    • “If attacks cease, Iran’s retaliatory actions will also end”
    • emphasized that war was “imposed” on Tehran
    • Israeli airstrikes on multiple military sites, nuclear facilities
    • Israeli strikes hit defense ministry, oil depots in Tehran

    My Comments:

The entire senior leadership of the Iranian armed forces (the real number is in excess of 20 people) have been killed within 10 - 15 minutes of each other. The first airstrikes began about 2:30 am Teheran time Friday morning. Most of the Army generals would have been asleep at home.

Since then in the past three days over 600 targets have been struck across Iran, as far as Tabriz in northern Iran and Sarghand in the east. Also Gchine, Bushehr in the south other than Arak, Isfahan and Natanz too.

Within 24 hours the Israelis fully dominated Iranian airspace.  Israeli warplanes are now flying in and out of Iran and Teheran at will. There are no effective air defenses left in Iran.

It is possible that the Israeli warplanes are being refuelled at the American Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar - the largest American military base in the Middle East.

One gas field, co-owned between Iran and Qatar has also been hit. The earlier report about the Kharg Island oil terminal being hit cannot be verified.

The more than 600 strikes across Iran have really embarrassed the Ayatollahs. Everywhere in Iran there is heavy black smoke rising into the sky -  debunking the Ayatollahs' claim that Iran is invincible.  Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is reported to have left Teheran on Friday and is in a safe location in Mashad. He has recorded one brief speech where he looks obviously distressed. Well who wouldnt be distressed if hundreds of bombs and missiles are striking home.

The question now is will the Israelis stop the air strikes? Or will they proceed with the complete annihilation of the Ayatollah regime? If the Iranians had hostages (like Hamas) they would have a better bargaining position.

    Lets see what happens.

    Sunday, June 15, 2025

The Ayatollahs have clearly made a huge mistake

World oil prices have hit US$73 per barrel (WTI). The news says Iran's Kharg Island Oil Terminal has been hit and put out of action. That is a really serious decapitation strike because Kharg Island is Iran's major oil export terminal.

More significantly for the past 48 hours the Israeli Air Force (IAF) has complete air dominance of the skies over Teheran and Iran.  At least 70 Israeli warplanes are constantly flying the skies over Teheran and Iran

Air dominance goes beyond air superiority and air supremacy in that it not only ensures that friendly aircraft can fly anywhere in enemy territory, but that they can also be effective at performing their mission.

I am still perplexed how the IAF is refueling their jets despite the 1,500 km distance one way from Israel to Teheran.

The IAF has completely neutralised all Iranian air defences like their radars, the Russian made S300 SAM system, the Iranian made Bavars SAM system (through electronic jamming and taking them out). None of Iran's air assets including their 50 year old F14 Tomcats, the 65 year old F4 Phantoms have taken to the skies. Some of them have been destroyed inside their hangars on the ground.

The 'flying brick' F4 Phantom (above) and swing-wing F14 Tomcat (below). Both are American made.

The Israelis have established complete air dominance over Iran.

It has become known now that a substantial number of strikes against Iran were launched by drones from INSIDE Iran, particularly from around the Teheran area. This means that the Mossad has established, armed and trained sabotage cells inside Iran from some time ago. These sabotage cells have been very effective in identifying and taking out Iranian ballistic missiles.

A few Iranian ballistic missiles have hit Tel Aviv, Haifa and one Sunni Arab majority city in northern Israel. So far 10 civilians have been killed. Some residential houses have been destroyed.

Despite three days the Iranians have not attacked Saudi Arabia, the Arab Gulf countries or the American bases in the area. They promised to attack all these places.  Israel is attacking alone and they have caused severe damage across Iran. The Ayatollahs cannot risk getting the US Navy also bombing the crap out of them. The Yanks can out-bomb the Israelis at anytime.

The Israelis say that this campaign may go one for at least 15 days. Some places like the Natanz nuclear facility have been bombed more than once. After damage assessments they may be bombed again. The Israelis want to make sure that the Iranian nuclear program is fully destroyed.

They also want to effect a regime change. To this effect the Iranian people will suffer some difficulties because the Israelis have or certainly will attack infrastructure like power plants, water treatment plants etc. Such destruction will certainly weaken the Ayatollahs substantially.

The top echelon of the Iranian military has been decapitated - including the Chief of the Iranian Airforce. More than 20 top Iranian generals have been killed so far. The numbers are not definite - there may be more. Also about a dozen Iranian nuclear scientists have also been killed. But a nuclear  research facility in Natanz with over 3000 nuclear scientists has also been hit.

Other reports say an apartment complex housing academics and nuclear researchers was completely destroyed in the early hours of Friday - when the attack began.  So we really do not know the exact numbers of nuclear scientists killed.

In just three days of bombardment the Israelis have struck over 600 targets. Say there are 12 days to go. That is another 2,400 targets.

    The Hezbollah is gone.
The Hamas is fighting over hijacking food trucks.
The Houthis have been severely hit.
Bashar Assad and Syria are gone forever.
    Iran is now burning.
The Ayatollahs have clearly made a huge mistake.

SYABAS PEMUDA PAS. ALLAHUMA SOLLI ALAIKUM.
