The Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) in Malaysia is a government initiative under KPDN that enables eligible commercial and public transport vehicles to purchase diesel at subsidized prices (
per liter as of Apr 2026). It utilizes a fleet card system (SKDS 2.0) to digitize, control, and prevent smuggling of subsidized fuel for targeted economic sectors.
Key Aspects of SKDS Diesel Subsidy:
- SKDS 1.0 (Public Transport): Provides subsidized diesel at RM1.88 per liter to land public transport, including school buses, express buses, ambulances, and fire engines.
- SKDS 2.0 (Goods Transport): Launched to provide subsidized fuel for specific commercial vehicles (e.g., lorries, trucks) through a fleet card system that tracks purchases.
- Mechanism: Eligible operators buy diesel at market price and are reimbursed or pay the subsidised price via fleet cards from participating oil companies like PETRONAS.
- Targeted Sectors: Primarily supports transportation of goods, agriculture, and fishing to reduce operational costs.
- Application: Companies must register their commercial vehicles through the MySubsidi Diesel System to qualify.
