If they cannot get rid of corruption then we will get rid of them.

  • Former Deputy IIGP Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay interview Ruang Bicara
  • Strong political will, from highest leadership, crucial to combating corruption
  • top leaders must lead by example and demonstrate firm resolve
  • only succeed if those at helm sent clear message of zero tolerance
  • Change must come from the top
  • If leaders truly have political will to make it happen
  • culture of covering up wrongdoing
  • corruption should not be treated as "internal secrets"
  • If we do not acknowledge problems we are heading towards destruction
  • we will move backwards while other countries move forward

MY COMMENTS:

This is how I read Tan Sri Ayub Khan. What he is actually saying is there is no political will to combating corruption. Leadership by example is also lacking. There is no such thing as zero tolerance for corruption at the highest levels. So change is NOT going to come from the top.

Now this is where we come in. The ordinary people, the voters must keep changing the leaders. Like soiled baby diapers - the more frequently we change them, the better for us.

If they cannot get rid of corruption then we will get rid of them.
