VIETNAM AGREES TO TRUMP TARIFF CUTS: FORD MUSTANG AT RM135,000 IN VIETNAM ??

“It is my Great Honor to announce that I have just made a Trade Deal with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam after speaking with To Lam, the Highly Respected General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

Trump says Vietnam to face 20% tariff under ‘great’ deal.   The US president says in return Hanoi will open its market fully and allow tariff-free entry for American exports.

My Comments: For those of you who were laughing at Donald Trump's "tariffs" it looks like Vietnam has agreed to "The Art of the Deal" with Donald Trump.

Trump's Art of the Deal vis a vis tariffs is simple: "You impose tariffs on me I impose tariffs on you. You cut your tariffs then I cut my tariffs. Tit for tat butter for fat. You kill my dog I kill your cat.

So folks this is the American muscle car the Ford Mustang. This car sells in the USA for about RM135,000.  (In Malaysia this car sells at an insane price of RM461,000 to RM600,000).

Since "Hanoi will open its market fully and allow tariff-free entry for American exports" it means this Ford Mustang will possibly be sold in Vietnam for about RM135,000.

Here is the news in brief:

  • President Trump announced Wed trade deal with Vietnam
  • Vietnam to face minimum 20% tariff and open its market to US products
  • deal comes less than a week before July 9 deadline
  • Hanoi escapes more severe 46% tariff
  • imports of Vietnamese goods 20% US tariff
  • trans-shipping through Vietnam 40% tariff.
  • “in return, Vietnam will give US TOTAL ACCESS to Vietnam Market"
  • “they will ‘OPEN THEIR MARKET TO THE UNITED STATES’
  • we will be able to sell our product into Vietnam at ZERO Tariff
  • Trump believed US-made SUVs will be a wonderful addition to Vietnam
  • Trump affirmed US will significantly reduce reciprocal taxes for Vietnamese exports
  • Without a deal, Vietnam’s “reciprocal tariff” would be 46%
  • Trump’s announcement comes a week before steep tariffs on Europe and Japan
  • UK & US will cut tariffs on cars from 27.5% to 10% - limit of 100,000 cars per year
  • UK & US fully eliminated 10% tariff on goods such as engines and aircraft parts
  • Britain agreed to open its market to US ethanol and beef.

My Comments:

  • So folks Trump says he has made a 'great deal' with Vietnam.
  • Vietnam will face 20% tariff on its exports to the US. In return

  • “Vietnam will give US TOTAL ACCESS to Vietnam Market"
  • “they will ‘OPEN THEIR MARKET TO THE UNITED STATES’
  • we will be able to sell our product into Vietnam at ZERO Tariff
  •

So folks, is Malaysia "greater" than Vietnam? If Donald Trump has made this "great deal" with Vietnam - which has a US$500 Billion GDP -  what kind of deal do you think Malaysia will get?

    Like Vietnam, will Malaysia

  • “give United States TOTAL ACCESS to Malaysia's Market"
  • 'OPEN OUR MARKET TO THE UNITED STATES’
  • They will be able to sell US products into Malaysia at ZERO Tariff?
  • All the kaum elit orang kaya, the AP holders, the blood sucking GLCs may be panicking. Or smiling to themselves.

For those of you who are really thick in the head, please answer this question, which is better for you - paying RM135,000 for a car or paying RM461,000 for the same car? Do you need a few days to think over this question? Here is a clue: It is not a 3R question. Ini bukan soalan 3R ok.  Ini soal business, trade and economics.
