DR MAHRANG BALOCH 31 YRS OLD JAILED FOR LIFE. PAKISTAN WILL BURN.

This news is sweeping Pakistan, India and around the world. Dr Mehrang Baloch a 31 yr old medical doctor and Baloch activist has on 22nd June 2026 been sentenced to life imprisonment by a Pakistani military court. 

MY COMMENTS: Mahrang Baloch was arrested on 22 March 2025 during a police raid on a peaceful sit-in protest in Quetta, Balochistan. She had been leading the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), advocating against enforced disappearances and other human rights issues.

On 22 June 2026, a Quetta anti-terrorism court sentenced her (along with Sibghatullah Shah and others) to life imprisonment.

So far reaction inside Balochistan has been muted.

Two weeks ago, (around 8–12 June) in Naal, Khuzdar district, Balochistan the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for a coordinated offensive called Operation Naal. According to BLF statements:

• They attacked military positions, police/Levies stations, etc
• They shot down two Pakistani gunship/attack helicopters
• killing 12 elite SSG commandos and a total of 33 security personnel.
• also destroyed quadcopters, armored vehicles, mobile towers

• Baloch groups (BLF/BLA) are becoming bolder and more coordinated. Using ground fire (machine guns) against low-flying helicopters highlights vulnerabilities in rugged Balochistan terrain.
• Balochistan has seen heightened militant attacks throughout 2026, targeting security forces, infrastructure, and Chinese-linked projects. 

Mahrang Baloch has no links with the Baloch militants. N'theless I  think there will be a major escalation in Balochistan that may be difficult to contain. 

In cash strapped Pakistan, the Field Marshall and the military have recently been buoyed up by billions of US Dollars flowing in from the defence pact with Saudi Arabia.  13,000 Pakistani troops have been sent to Saudi Arabia to defend the country (against Iran) ?  

But Pakistan is also playing mediator between Iran and the US. Plus it has now come to be known that to escape American and Israeli bombing the Iranian regime flew some of their airforce planes into Pakistan for safe sanctuary. So they are playing everyone. Of course all this simply means more money - the number 1 sought after commodity in Pakistan.

The Baloch are disrupting the flow of money. They have to be dealt with. But  throughout history it has been proven again and again that those who fight while starving have always defeated those who will not fight unless there is money involved. Lets wait for the next explosion.
