Suicidal Defence.

 

Here is a perceptive and neatly summarised comment about Najib's really weak and crumbling defence in the ongoing 1MDB case in the Court, written by The RealNehruism in newswav.com. I have truncated it further. For the full report click here.

Just that I would not title it 'going gently into the night' but rather :
'nailing his own coffin shut from the inside
'hanging himself with piano wires' 
 'hanging himself by the cojones with piano wires'

Before you read the article by TheRealNehruism here is my summary of Najib's defence.

Many years ago, circa 1990s there was a robbery in Chow Kit. The robbers were a bunch of Malay guys. I believe they were all caught. They robbed a supermarket or something. They robbed the place wearing only their underwear. The talk was that these robbers (or idiots) had visited a bomoh who had given them tangkal (a talisman or amulet) plus other bomoh bullshit to make their 'naked' bodies invisible. (Perhaps they were not fully convinced that the invisibility reached everywhere so they decided to wear underwear - just in case). Imagine four sets of underwear suddenly floating out of a supermarket in Chow Kit. 

So here is a summary of Najib's defense and see if it tallies with the 'underwear robbers'. Or 'robbers in underwear'.

 

 

Najib’s defence is so utterly atrocious
I would even accuse him of sabotaging his own case
makes you wonder why he is even bothering to get himself released
the way his current defence is going, I doubt it would matter 

So far, Najib has said :
he received hundreds of millions from people he didn’t know 

he did not even know them in the first place 

he never once asked them why they gave him millions or billions
he never gave his bank account number to any one of them 

he never once asked them how they knew his bank account number.

 

He simply assumed the billions came from late King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia
But he never once sent a thank you note to the king for giving him billions

 

he claimed under oath he had never set foot in the 1MDB office
when shown a picture he recanted (tarik balik) his claim. 

 

he said he used RM2.3m to pay speechmakers and social media  
used Saudi King's donation to pay speech writers and social media??
because he “did not want to burden government.”
why didnt Najib use govt media team in his own office?

Najib claimed he confronted JoLo about his extravagant lifestyle
because he felt uneasy about JoLo's ostentatious behaviour
which attracted widespread international media attention
Why should Najib care about JoLo's ostentatious lifestyle? 
JoLo is not Najib's family member or had any position in 1MDB or in govt
(OSTB : Unless Jolo was splurging some of the Saudi King's donations as well? And when exactly did Najib confront JoLo?)

• It beggars belief 
• Najib never asked unknown people why they sent him billions
• Najib never said thank you to Saudi King for billions donations
• but confronted JoLo about ostentatious lifestyle (using JoLo's own money?)  
• JoLo is not Najib’s son or has any role in govt or 1MDB.

(OSTB : Indeed if JoLo was spending his own money and not spending stolen 1MDB money or Saudi Arabia donation money then what right has Najib to "confront" JoLo about his ostentatious lifestyle? I think the size of the underwear just shrank a lot).

after hearing his version, I don’t see how any reasonable person will find Najib innocent
Considering this 'defence', chances are he is likely going back to prison

OSTB : As far as that 'dendum dendum' thing goes Najib should understand by this time that his former deputy plus his former deputy's current boss have absolutely no interest in letting him breathe fresh air again. They would rather that he keep breathing stale air inside the prison. That really is the equation now - they cannot be bothered if Najib is locked up forever and the key gets thrown away.

And looking at how Najib's latest 1MDB trial is progressing (or crashing) his former buddies need not worry about anything at all.  This looks like open and shut.
