Those 148 seats which previously "belonged" to Umno that UMNO has lost from 1999 until 2022 were all Malay majority seats. The "ketuanan Melayu" seats. Ketuanan Melayu does not get UMNO the Malay votes anymore.

Both the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew and Tun Dr Mahathir have been very successful in one main area. There is a huge similarity between them. Lee Kuan Yew's highly successful grooming of Singapore through his pragmatic and realistic economic and social policies have now been embedded in Singapore. Despite Mr Lee stepping down from power in 1990 - 35 years ago (he died in 2015) the Singaporeans have continued with the solid and robust policies that Mr Lee laid down that has served and is still serving Singapore so well.
Not to be outdone all of Dr Mahathir's policies that have so failed the country are also still in place. Despite Dr Mahathir 1.0 stepping down in 2003 and then Dr M 2.0 being kicked out of office in 2022, all of Dr Mahathir's "Mahazalim, Mahafiraun and Mahakaya" policies remain solidly in place. Not a single one of Dr M's failied and failing policies have been changed - despite the gomen changing hands multiple times - UMNO/BN was kicked out in 2018. Absolutely nothing has changed.
Ponder this - Joseph Biden was the most unsuccessful and the most foolish president the United States has ever had. Period. And the cackling hen he picked for Vice President (who replaced him as the Democrat's presidential candidate) was a worse nightmare if the American people had not woken up. So Donald Trump won the 2024 presidential election with a landslide.
Now imagine that after winning the US presidential elections President Donald Trump had made the following speech 'I have decided to hold on to, maintain and continue ALL the failed policies of President Joseph Biden. On the economy, defence, foreign policy, open borders immigration, health care, education I have decided to continue with ALL the failed policies of Joseph Biden and the Democratic party '.
Is this possible? Trump would have to be stark raving mad to say such a thing. He would have to be a lunatic.
But not in Malaysia. First of all the chart above tracks UMNO's Parliamentary seats from 1999 until 2022. You can see that UMNO/BN is well on its way to extinction. Congratulations to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed who was UMNO party president for 22 years until 2003. (Maybe this was Dr Mahathir's revenge against UMNO for calling him an Indian mamak and kicking him out in 1970).
In 1999 UMNO/BN began losing serious popularity. By 2008 UMNO/BN lost the 2/3 majority in Parliament.
Did they change Dr Mahathir's now seriously failing policies? No they did not change one centimeter or even one inch.
Then in 2013 UMNO won only 88 Parliamentary seats - Najib's penyapu baru effect.
Did they change Dr Mahathir's now seriously failing policies? No they did not change one centimeter or even one inch.
Then in 2018 UMNO got kicked out. Dr M 2.0 with PH took over.
Did they change Dr Mahathir's previously failed policies? No they did not change one centimeter or even one inch.
Then in 2022 they all lost. It was a hung Parliament. Nobody won. The King had to intervene to determine the government.

Since the 1980s UMNO's "Mahazalim, Mahafiraun and Mahakaya" policies remain solidly in place. Not a single one of Dr M's failed and failing policies have been changed.
Are they blind? By 2022 UMNO only had 26 seats left in Parliament. From 148 seats in 1999!! In 23 years UMNO had lost 82% of the support. UMNO has only 11% of support in Parliament.
And throughout all these years of obvious failure in Parliamentary elections they did not change even one dot of their failed "Mahazalim, Mahafiraun and Mahakaya" policies. Until today. Even Dr M 2.0 did not change anything.

Atok buat video nangis pun cannot get the ketuanan Melayu votes. Finally Atok lost his deposit in Langkawi. Now Langkawi is almost bankrupt - because too much free money (taxpayers money) was burnt in Langkawi. Service standards are bad to non existent.

So both Lee Kuan Yew and Dr M have something great in common. Both their policies have successfully survived through decades. The difference is Singapore has gone up, up and away.
