BBC: Who Will Lead Hamas After Killing Of Yahya Sinwar?
“Two Hamas officials told the BBC discussions to choose a successor for the group's leader Yahya Sinwar, whose killing was confirmed on Thursday, will begin very soon. The officials said that Khalil al-Hayya, Sinwar's deputy and the group's most senior official outside Gaza, is considered a strong candidate. Al-Hayya, who is based in Qatar, currently leads the Hamas delegation in ceasefire talks between the group and Israel, and possesses a deep knowledge, connection and understanding of the situation in Gaza. On Monday, a Hamas official told the BBC that the movement is likely to keep the identity of its new leader secret for security reasons. The movement did the same thing in 2003 following the assassination of then Hamas chief, Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, by Israel and that of his successor, Dr Abdel Aziz al-Rantisi. Hamas intends to elect a new leader in March of next.
My Comments :
The fate of Hamas and Hezbollah has become similar to the fate of an irritating fly sitting on an elephant's backside. The elephant was tolerating the fly for some time but eventually with one flick of its tail the elephant squashed all the flies sitting on its backside. In just three short weeks both Hamas and Hezbollah have been destroyed beyond recognition. Now the Iranian mullahs await a similar fate.
It is reported in Social Media that Iranian SUPREME LEADER Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been hiding underground in bunkers for a few weeks already. And with the Israeli counterstrike still pending (after the last Iranian ballistic missile attack on 1st October 2024) Khamenei has been hiding in underground bunkers 24/7. That is 22 days already. If any of these guys are claustrophobic they might soon go mad from hiding underground.
Yahya Sinwar was hiding in tunnels. He was killed by the Israelis when he came out of the tunnels. He should have stayed inside the tunnels but as I said the tunnels can be very claustrophobic. For reasons best known to themselves the Israelis are putting out the story that a bunch of their trainee teenager soldiers (while still in training) accidentally chanced upon Yahya Sinwar and shot Sinwar during a routine patrol to defuse some explosives. This is bullshit.
I think they knew exactly where he was. After heavy gun fire they pulverised the house with multiple tank rounds. According to the official autopsy, the direct cause of Sinwar's death was a bullet wound in the head.
Now they are looking for a new chief for Hamas. This is a waste of time. Hamas has been effectively destroyed. But whoever is the new chief of Hamas (even in Qatar) must get used to living underground in bunkers and tunnels for the rest of his life. The same goes for the Supreme Leaders of Iran and the Iranian presidents.
