Folks, we are 10 days away from the German federal elections scheduled for 23 February 2025. Indications are the opposition nationalist parties can get 25% or more of the votes. The AFD or Alternatif fur Deutschland could turn in a surprise. Lets see.
If the Opposition gains power in Germany, it may be the end of NATO and maybe even the European Union. They do not like both. And unlike Adolf Hitler's 'national-sozialismus' (NAZI) party of the 20th century the 21st century 'nationalists' in Germany are Russia-crazy. They want Germany and Russia to form an economic bloc of sorts.
President Trump made an over one hour phone call with President Putin of Russia. It was obviously a friendly phone call between friends, otherwise it would not have lasted more than one hour.
The war in Ukraine is coming to an end - on President Putin's terms. Russia keeps the territory it has captured. The Russians have crossed west across both the Oshkol and Dnieper Rivers inside Ukraine. They may withdraw to the east bank of both rivers and make that the LOC or Line Of Control. Other than that they will likely keep all the territory they have captured. So says the new US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
Ukraine will not be allowed to join NATO says the US. Considering this is a unilateral announcement by the US it means that the new administration in Washington is not too crazy about NATO either.
If President Trump can speak with Mr Putin for an hour on the phone what does the US need NATO for? This is the end of NATO as well.
