MACRON IN CRISIS

Another French Prime Minister with an unpronounceable name has resigned - after 26 days in office. This will be the seventh or eight prime minister under President Macron to have resigned. This means there will now be elections to choose a new prime minister and form a new Cabinet of Ministers.

The term of the French president expires in 2027 - but that is too far away. There will be significant pressure on Macron himself to resign as president and make way for a new round of presidential polls.

In France the presidential election is the 'more important' election whereas the prime minister is also elected through another set of elections. Usually the prime minister represents the same party to which the president belongs. This way the president and prime minister  can coordinate policy.

But the opposition led by Marine Le Pen's National Rally party is now set to win any new polls for the job of prime minister. This could result in Macron as president and National Rally as prime minister. There may be even more confusion in French politics.

So Macron can resign and make way for a new presidential poll (as well as a new prime ministerial poll).

France has been in political crisis since Macron became president. Macron has been quite foolishly over involved with the war in Ukraine. Macron used to work for the Rothschilds. He is known as the Rothschilds candidate. This time the carrier pigeons have lost their way.

It looks Macron is the crisis. He may or will have to go.
